Cookies are small text files stored on your device that let a site remember information between visits. This page explains which ones XGSearch uses, why, and how to control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies loads until you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and remembers your cookie choice itself. The site can't function without these. | Clerk session cookie, cookie consent preference | No, always on |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4: aggregate usage (pages visited, general location, device type). | _ga, _ga_*, _gid | Yes |
| Advertising | Google AdSense: shown to free-tier visitors only, may personalise the ads shown. | __gads, __gpi, IDE | Yes |
Exact cookie names set by Google Analytics and AdSense are controlled by Google and may change. This table reflects their typical current naming.
When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject analytics and advertising cookies. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. To change your mind later, clear this site's local storage and cookies in your browser settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit.
Upgrading to Pro or Elite removes advertising entirely, regardless of your cookie choice. You can also control ad personalisation directly through Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their settings.
We may update this policy as the cookies we use change. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
